Long term damage for my 2015?
 

Have a 2015 XLT SCREW, 3.5 Eco with the 3.31 rear end. I just put a 3" body lift and 305/55/20 terra grapplers on stock rims... Looks really good, but as I was walking out of the tire shop... I over hear 2 guys talking looking at my truck saying how they would never do that to a new truck... How it may look good but will be hard on the truck and bring long term trouble and shorten life span... Wheel bearings, ball joints, possible rear end issues... I'm no mechanic but I love a mean looking pickup... Give me some advice here... Is this true? I figured the tires weren't that drastic of a difference... Now I'm paranoid! Great! Give me your thoughts...

If you like the look and everything is routed/installed correctly there should be no problems. Enjoy your truck.

Have you ever seen a lifted 70-80's pick-up lately? Here in small town USA they are everywhere. I think you are fine with what you have done. I would have done a 4" suspension lift over a 3" body lift though.....

Yeah, they "would never do that to a new truck" because they could never AFFORD a new truck most likely.

No doubt the bigger wheels put extra strain on any vehicle, how much is up for debate.

I think you'll be ok

those are big tires, but no, it won't break anything that you don't go out of your way to break. body lifts are just spacers, they can't damage anything. the most strain you'd see is at the corners, but with stock angles and everything, you'll be fine.


most guys don't know a damned thing about pickups.

As others have noted, a body lift is a personal taste choice, and as long as quality parts were used, and the alignment(s) and pinion angle(s) are within spec', etc. things will be fine.

As for the change in wheel size NBD. *It's less than 0.1" | 2 RPMs (Revolutions Per Mile).

I say that(in my head) on this forum all the time. "I would never do that" is the most common thought that goes through my head looking at all the pics of people's trucks on this forum. It's not out of jealousy, or monetary reasons. I just simply wouldn't do "it."

The beauty is, it's not my truck. My opinion does not matter. And I respect that, by going by the old saying, "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. " So if someone wants to lift their truck, awesome! Just not my taste, so me personally, I just wouldn't, that's all, haha!!!



I don't know if that's what they meant. Maybe, they are warranty nuts. Some people I've met, literally wouldn't do that to a new truck. But a truck with 36,001 miles on it? They would in a heartbeat!
