Angry Lock out. What Happened ??

I was touching up with rustoileum on my 18 XL rusty lug nuts and thought to move the truck to get all sides of the lugs better. I made the move and was warned the truck was in neutral. I put it in park turned off the key and took the key out of the ignition and put the fob on the center console, closed the door and the darn doors locked. My only fob. AAA bailed me out at my house. What happened ? Is this normal? Doesn't seem right to me. I experimented in settings to disable auto lock. But that only works for when you start driving the doors lock. a bit baffled. Anyone? Safe bet I'm looking into a second fob.

on my 2010 atleast, there is a option on the dash computer to turn auto locking doors on when ignition is out and the door is closed and another one for when it is in and the door is closed.

Thanks for chiming in rainbdandy. I'm going to get two keys made now. I will be looking in the dash computer options a little closer.
