The Little Things
Alright, these things are trucks, they are going to get scratched, dented, dinged, used abused and whatever else you can think of. I get that they won't stay in showroom condition forever.
BUT I cannot stand when I get a new little "love mark" on my truck. It's almost gut wrenching, not sure if its because I still owe money on it or I just love the thing so much but seeing it get hurt sucks lol. I inherited a new little ding on one of my rims, I suspect it happened while driving up and down the hunt camp road during deer season, you wouldn't know it was there unless you are looking for it but I know its there and it drives me nuts!!! I know in time I'll get over it like everything else, still what a pi** off lol. Anyone else feel like this or am I nuts? |
You're the only one. I didn't obsess when I dumped scrap out of my brand new truck and a piece bounced back and dinged the side. Not at all... :whistling2:

Yeah, I don't obsess like that. In '93 I bought a used 92 F150 (yes, only a year old with about 3,600 mi on it.) Stopped over to talk to a neighbor working in his yard and he leaned on the bed wall (like we males tend to do) but he had his work gloves still on and put some scratches in the top of the rail. Gee, thanks a lot!
I've spent the last 2 years bringing out the best in a black Pontiac Soltice's paint and the better I get it looking the more defects I find. I just bought a peal white '12 Screw Lariat and the paint was nearly perfect - only few noticeable defects. Yeah, now that I've clayed, polished, waxed and sealed the paint - and more importantly have found the best angles to view the white versus the black paint - I'm finding more and more that needs to be cleaned up! |
Yeah, gotta feeling you're the only one. I got showered with rocks while on a road trip in August. I didn't get it repaired until two days after I got home. :brows:

Don't let the little things ruin the experience of owning a great truck

obsessing. . . |
Late 80's I spent 5k on a 69 Olds cutlass paint job. .that was a lot back then. Show room mint..Some azz keyed it from one end to the other every where.
What did I learn..nothing..I still like mint cars..trucks.. just watch more where I leave them |
I haven't washed my 2014 in 6 months.....couldn't care, but people still say - "hey.....nice truck". lol

Mother Nature washes it all the time Plan on a complete wash & detail next Spring |
Had a friends bike in my bed and instead of him asking me to open the tailgate, he lifts it over the side. The noise of that pedal taking a chunk of paint with it was painful...
And I have a 2003 with 179,000 miles on it. I cannot stand when crap like that happens, and I hate a dirty truck. It drives me bonkers. |
