Liquid Glass Polish

I did a quick search and I couldn't locate the latest information on Liquid Glass (LG) polish (I was telling a friend how good the product was and planned on sending the link from Amazon so he could purchase it). I couldn't locate it for sale through the regular sources (Amazon and local businesses) so I called MPT Industries and found out it has been discontinued due to its formulation (cancer causing chemicals and can't be sold in California). I did find out that MPT has created their own formulation, MPT Classic, that's similar and it has the same carbon coating and now UV protection. Based upon my conversation it can be used on top of your last coat of LG and you put it on with a thin coating because it's been concentrated. Sounds like if you don't use a thin coating it's difficult to remove. I haven't tried it yet but after 5 reviews on Amazon it's got 4.5 stars...I know it's not a lot of reviews but you have to start some where. If your interested you can find out more information at: http://www.mptindustries.com/mpt_pro...appearance.htm. I'm a huge proponent of LG and it looks like this might be a great replacement. Once I give MPT Classic a try I'll provide an update to this thread and please provide feedback if you have tried it.

I used LG for years but stopped with they went out of business. The MTP version won’t be as user friendly. You can no longer do the whole truck and then easily buff it off, even in the sun. The MTP stuff is much more concentrated and can only be done part by part.

Ive moved on to sealants. They last way longer and look even better. Wolfgang sealant is great stuff.

I’ll miss the ease of LG. It lasted quite a while too, was cheap and easy to find for years.

I recently went to the Liquid Glass website and it shows that they still sell it. I've used LG for years and I only have half a can left so I hope I they still have it.

I just checked and you can order it at liquidglasspolish.com. They give their phone number to order that way too.

Their phone is disconnected. Their site is still active, but you won’t get anywhere ordering it. Liquid Glass has indeed gone out of business.

No response to their email, phone line disconnected, many other places that used to sell their product have aslso stated they are no longer.

its out of stock in every store and online seller including eBay and Amazon. However, I did see an open can of it going for over $60 a few months back. Not that it’s worth it.

I sure hate to hear they went out of business. I've read very good reviews on a sealant/wax which is Car Guys Liquid Wax and it's sold on Amazon. I'll give that a try next.

Damn! Have been using it since 1985. Seem to recall that one of the local auto supply places had a can or two on the shelf; better grab 'em up.

Here’s a can with a starting bid of $110 haha.

Thanks for the info.
Have used Liquid Glass on my 14 GT500 since day 1, ( Sept. 2013 ), 54 coats, not sure what to do now.
Have a full can, so have time to research a replacement..
.

Based on my discussion with the MPT customer service agent the MPT Classic is a one-for-one replacement. Also MPT had the license to manufacture LG and if you look at their product line it mirrors LG's product line. Might be worth trying since you've been happy with LG.
