The cover is aluminum with fines, that and the double fluid capacity helps to keep it cooler. It also added a magnetic drain plug, magnetic dip stick for checking the fluid level and a port to add a temp sending unit so you can add a gauge in the truck to see the temperature you want.
Plus it looks great

http://mag-hytec.com/ I also got the DD tranny pan too. I haven't installed it yet because I'm thinking I'm gonna do a shift kit at the same time. The DD trans pan is also aluminum finned and adds 3 extra quarts of fluid, a magnetic drain plug and a port for a temp sending unit.
I bought them both brand new from a member on F150online that never installed them for 375 shipped.

i went to ken towerys this morning to explain to them what they done to my truck. they called napa to see what type of oil they brought over and used. they brought over a 4oz tube of modifier(that was not used) and synthetic 75w-140 and they said that is what ford recomends and it has friction modifier in it. they even showed me on their computer. well i new they were wrong so i went to ford and asked what is supposed to be used, they said and printed off a paper that states all 9.75 rear ends with LS (ex: 03-06 navi and expeditions) requires synthetic 75w-140 AND 4 oz of friction modifier for complete axle refill. I told the ford tech that ken towerys said b/c its synthetic 75w-140 it did not need friction modifier. He said they are wrong.
i have a criminal procedures class tonight and the professor is a laywer and i am going to get advice from him. is there anything yall think i should do?

well i asked my professor tonight on what i should do and he said i have a good enough reason to take ken towerys to small claims court. he said it would be good to get statements from 2 or more automotive experts about the problem and what should have been done. and to get a couple price quotes for repairs. i already have a two ford experts now i need someone else from a different company.
i did talk to my gf's moms boyfriend who is a master tech at the ken towerys across town and he even said they f***ed up and they should have put the friction modifier in there. i dont really want to use him cause he might lose his job or something.
But tomorrow i will be contacting a lawyer for futher advise.

If I was that manager I would for sure hook you up w/ a new limited slip or locker or whatever, and pay to have the Ford place do it if you wanted. I hate poor service excuse making mofahkers.

that would be nice, but it will depend on the amount of damage done. i am going to have to see what a lawyer says first. ill probably go to ford and pay for it to be re-done so they can get in there and see if anything was damaged. then ill sue to get my money back.
