Default Before & After

Did some plasti-dipping this weekend. Touched up all my exterior plastics, they had all faded since their birth in 1998. Then decided to try out the rocker panel. What do y'all think?

Looks good, ColeSJ. How many coats did you put on the rocker panel and any important prep you did?

I did about 8 coats and no extreme preparation - just cleaned it off.

So far the wheels look the same as the day I did them! I drive 40-60 miles a day and have run it through the car wash a few times (touchless), once with the high pressure undercarriage/wheel option and didn't have any problems. I agree, I'm curious to see how well it holds up during the winter around here, but for as cheap and easy as it was to do - if I ever have an issue I'll just peel it off and re-do.

I am thinking of doing the bumpers and door handles (with electrical tape on the inside.) Maybe do my rocker panels again, but with more coats this time around.

If you have Amazon Prime, its cheaper to get the black plastidip packs then buying in the store. They have a few other colors as well. The premium stuff is shipped from DipYourCar.com and costs a lot due to it being considered a hazardous material I guess.

Default Rustoleum over plasti dip

Rustoleum over plasti dip. I decided to change the look of my dipped hub caps. I did not want the chrome showing so I painted over the plasti dip incase I change my mind, again!

Turned out nicely. I didn't know you could paint over the dip. That opens up a few more possibilities.

Rocker panels, F-150 emblems, stock 17" wheels, and bumpers all got some plasti dip. Before, during, and after pics
