In my 1998 F-150 the left side speakers are barely audible.

After the radio has been on for about 15 minutes or when the cab
heats up, the left speakers begin to work much better.

On cold mornings the left speakers can barely be heard but the rights
are great.

Any clues on how to trouble shoot this?

Check speakers and radio unit connections - there may be a loose contact. If you have single wire going to each speaker - check speakers grounding connections very carefully. If it does not help - switch left and right speakers it your radio unit connector - colors must be written on it's surface. if it does affect (you'll start hearing your left speakers instead of right) then probably there is a loose contact in your radio build-in amplifier. Remove the radio unit's top and bottom covers. Find one ore two (it depends on a radio model) lagest chips attached to own radiators. Tinker their pins very carefully- do not shortcut them. That must help.

I've had this kind of trouble before and many times it was the positive and negative speaker wires touching each other or a bad speaker ground.
