well y'all I finally got the problem resolved by my installer there was 2 leaks at each corner of the front of the cap and some filler sorted it out. But I stand by my advice ( let the truck dealer install if the price is right ).

Default Leaking ARE cap on 2016 f150

I just bought a new 2016 f150 and a new 2016 A.R.E. Z series cap($4k+)
The cap has a seeping leak across the entire width at the cab end. I've taken it back twice and contacted ARE headquarters. It still leaks and the Bed Rug gets soaked along with anything that's on the floor. Not happy with the company or service. The point of a truck cap is to keep things inside dry and protected. I guess ARE doesn't understand that.
Any suggestions.

Default Bump

This thread popped up in my search so I bumped it. The Leer 180 on my 2012 F150 leaked everywhere. The topper itself leaked at both side windows and both Yakima rails on top. The fasteners used on that basically guaranteed that it couldn’t be water tight. It was a pretty straight forward fix for all of that, but time consuming. As for the install, the entire front not only leaked, you could see daylight between the topper and bed along the entire front. I fixed it all myself cause the dealer was 200 miles away and I didn’t have much faith in them doing it right. Now I’m tearing my hair out over the last two remaining leaks: both front corners. The inner edges of the plastic bed rail caps are a booger to seal and, as I discovered on my 3rd or 4th examination, water gets in between the rail cap and rail. After an hour filling with butyl tape and polyurethane caulking, it didn’t leak for a couple months but it’s recently started again. Any suggestions would be appreciated and sorry to be so long winded

Mine is a Century - identical to Leer

The recess behind the glass seems to channel water runoff from the roof onto the top of the tailgate, where it mostly runs inside. Also, the top of the rubber seal behind the glass collects mud and crud. The rest of the canopy is great. Lots of mud and road debris accumulates on the top of the fiberglass tailgate piece - the Cowcatcher - this time of the year, just like the rear bumper - to be expected.

Wonder - why the manufacturers do not offer branded canopies like they do bed covers?

Just got my canopy installed last week, First big rain.
I am now getting multiple leaks (mostly the front corners), but also now getting leaks from the lights and LED bed switch.
This never happened previously with my Tonneau cover.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks.

Had an ARE Tonneau LSII cover for 16 years and it never leaked a drop.

Issues with water around the front, both front corners.

but also both LEDs in the rear and rear corners.
so weird as the led didn’t leak with my tonneau!!!

very confused. Has been back to the installer twice so far. Waiting for good weather to send back another time

help?

Mine (Century) is still good, but earlier onI did have water puddles on the inside about 8" in from the tailgate - weird. I found that my 3rd brake light unit was loose, and tightening it just stripped the plastic around the two tiny, inadequate screws holding it in. In the summer I removed the light, cleaned the mud etc. thoroughly, and "potted" the whole thing in black rubber sealant, with larger SS screws/. Case closed.

Also should add - the fibreglass lip (shelf, cowcatcher) on the bottom of the glass is not sealed to the glass - mud and water were running down the inside of the glass when the door was up. Sealed and fixed, good now, but not too good from the factory, I thought. My door is one piece, frame-less.
