Default Leaky 2010 screw

About a month ago I noticed the dreaded leaking from the third brake light. So I took it off and put sealant on the inside and around the outside. Everything had been fine since then. Today we got a ton of rain this morning and when I got in it I noticed lots of leaking and the whole pillar on the back passenger side was soaked and so was the seat. Could the water be coming from somewhere else or did I do a crappy job of fixing the 3rd brake light issue?

It actually looks like it may be leaking from the rivets and weather stripping that runs down the top of the roof.

More than likely, as you stated, the rivets. I've sealed mine when I sealed my 3rd brake light.

On a side note... welcome to the F150 Submariners Corps...

May I ask how you went about sealing them?

Hold on, before you assume the rivets it might be your back window. I did my 3rd brake light thinking it was that and still my rear cab corners and seat got wet even after a light storm. Hopped in one night and pulled the headliner forward a little & saw water drops raining from between the window seal and the cab right onto me. You could even hear the pattering of the drops onto the headliner. Was able to have a great local glass company come out within two days, pull the window, seal it up with thicker tape and Urethane, and now all is water-tight.

Called the Ford dealership before this and they told me they had a 2015 come in under warranty with the exact same window seal leak. So don't be surprised if yours does too. Run a hose above the rear window and check if it leaks.

Used black RTV sealant... however I have a black truck so it isnt noticeable.

I did check the rear window... Figured it my be a trifecta of issues with it (defrost broke, power sliding window doesnt close (off the track)) but it wasnt leaking from there.

BUT... It is worth checking out LariatDude's suggestion. it is another reported leak point on some trucks.

Heh... Didnt see your avatar image when I posted that. They do make a clear. Also it is not gobbed over the rivets just in/around them. Could also, maybe, try a flowable silicone (Clear)... similar to what is used on windows.
