I've never kept up with the ins-and-outs of the auto industry leadership (Ford, GM, or otherwise), but yesterday I had the opportunity to listen to Alan Mulally give a talk on leadership and his experience as CEO of both Boeing & Ford. This guy has incredible insight into being a team player.

If you are a business owner/operator and have never read/listened to his story, I would highly recommend you take a look at the culture shift that took place at Ford while he was there. Going from a fear based, "don't upset the boss" mentality to giving your team the ability to be honest about issues and ask for team input was a big part of his leadership DNA. It was really interesting to learn about...
