K&N Air Intake

K&N Air Intake
I've been considering a K&N Air Intake for my 2012. Any strong opinions on these? Worth the money or waste of money? I like the concept ("more air"), but I'm not wild about my gas mileage taking a hit.
For those of you that have one of these - have you found that your gas mileage is significantly affected, or barely noticeable?
Any input/feedback would be appreciated!

Why? you all ready have a CAI from the factory you will gain nothing but intake drone and a lighter wallet.

Wallet will be $300 lighter! Which is why I'm pretty hesitant to do this unless someone really convinces me that it's worth it.

Discussed over and over on the forum. Total waste of money, yet many waste it.

If ya like the sound and looks, go for it. If you expect performance gains, forget it.
I've got an Airaid set up , dry filter with the sock on it. Got nothing but some under hood sound, and looks. All my tunes are written taking the CAI into consideration, and nothing changed on the butt dyno or gas station.

Thanks, guys. That pretty much answers that question. I should've just looked up CAI and could've answered my own question. My bad. But thanks everyone for your responses
So, $300 remains in my wallet.

This has been around for a few years, but the guy with Jay Leno is Ford`s chief engineer, so he knows a thing or two. Go to the 4:52 mark of this video:

Thanks. I watched the whole video, actually. And yes, you're right, the Ford engineer said it. Sounds like at one time, one may have benefited from an aftermarket product, but not these days. I wonder just how far back he's talking about, though .... ?

why not just put in a K&M air filter in (around $50.00)
works well and you never have to buy another air filter.
mine is 5 years old I clean it every 15,000 to 20,000 miles (I drive a lot 800 miles a week)

I do have the K&N air filter - just forgot to mention it.
Thanks!
