Just not in the mood--coolant leak
No leaks whatsoever on my truck since I purchased it 2 months ago. Have been doing all the routine maintenance on it since then. Went to run an errand this morning and warmed it up a tad and noticed quite the large coolant dripping from the right front area of the radiator. I have to tear shields out of the way to see where it might be coming from. Are there any susceptible areas on these trucks that I should be looking for?

Bruce - let the forum know what year and engine. I'm not familiar with this as a chronic issue, but I have minimal experience with recent models. Others on this forum have a LOT of history and experience.

Whoops---2007 5.4
It's the rad at the very bottom middle. I'll just order a new one. Two questions. I see a company online called Radiator Express that has a heavy duty rad for $170 delivered. Anybody else know of a good place to get rads from? Also, what type of coolant does the 2007 Ford F150 take----those good old days are gone where one can just put in any coolant because they were basically all the same.

Changing my radiator this week. Figure I better replace the orings on the tranny coolant lines. Anybody know where a person can get these? I have searched everywhere with no luck.
Also, is there a special tool or way one needs to disconnect the lines (photo attached)--looks like one might just turn them but not sure. Thanks!

There is a special tool to disconnect. You can unscrew them but the new rad will come with new quick connect fitting and new Orings. I have had to do it both ways. Undoing the bolt head Jason never has a leak after. But I would prefer to properly disconnect using a transfer Ling disconnect tool. Cannot remember the size but I believe it is the same for the Explorer and expedition. Fair simple swap.

I have one of these sets but maybe this is just for fuel and AC lines. Is the white plastic piece over the line connection just twist off--what's its purpose? Never mind, I'll order the Lisle 39660. Thanks guys!
