Default Just bought Used F150 and wondering what things to do first?

I just purchased a 2001 F150 V8 5.4 4WD Super Crew with 189k miles.

It was a trade-in and I have no info on the vehicle at all.

I'm wondering what things you guys suggest to tackle from a maintenance standpoint since I don't know what was done and when.

go to a ford dealer and get an oasis to see if a dealership has done any work to it, it'll also tell you if there are any outstanding recalls

I'm new to the forums but it looks like people are recommending 5w/20 synthetic?

Looks like also stick with Motorcraft since its recommended by Ford?

All fluids and all filters.

Recommend all synthetic and better than stock or stock filters nothing less.

Be careful with the spark plugs on that 5.4...they have been known to break down in the hole...real pain in the ***** to fix.
Along with what was mentioned above check the brake pads, belt(s) and the battery date(age) & connections, the suspension too...new shocks, bushings, front end alignment eventually...air up tires...use torque wrench with proper amount on the lug nuts...generally get it ready for winter. Check to ensure the jack is there and works. Crank the spare down, air it up and check the condition of the tire/rim. Get familuar with the truck while it is warm and you have the time.
Maybe a real good cleaning inside and out and wax it, Rain-X the windows while installing new blades. Check all lights/blinkers...

I only use motor craft because the dealer puts it in for $15. All my other vehicles get Mobil 1 full synthetic. Best oil made.
