Hey, thanks for the response. I have tried this a few times since I received your response and I get the same answer: "speech control not available with this device."

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Antonio,

I purchased a used 2010 Lariat. I registered with the sync my ride, added the VIN etc and the site says my software is up to date. The previous owner was in his 60s and never used the sync much less updated anything. Is this possible - there hasn't been an update in over 3 years

Hello kevin777,

I can certainly double-check for you. PM your VIN and I'll see what I can find.

I figured I would join this conversation with my issue. I have a first gen IPOD touch. It had been working fine. I added a play list (no new songs) to it but ever since then I cannot search for anything using voice command. It will say "indexing" and then just continue to play on shuffle. Any ideas? In order for me to change play list or songs, I have to unplug it from the USB and manually do it.

Hi Big Red 5.0,

Did you run the SYNC My iTunes application? This utility helps with many indexing problems by bridging the gaps in your music files caused by missing or partial metadata. I would start troubleshooting this issue by performing a soft reset on the iPod: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320

I'm not sure which version of SYNC you have installed, so I will include the master reset procedure for the two most popular systems:Keep me posted on how it goes!
