Thumbs up iPod hook up on factory radios

I know there are a lot of posts on this but I wasn't sure which one to post this on so I started a new one. I have an 04 F-150 with the factory 6 disc. It has an aux button but no place to hook up an iPod to. In fact, im not even sure why they put the button on there, it doesn't seem to have a function at all. But, I have been looking for a long time on how to hook an iPod up to it and have tried the wireless FM transmitters and determined the fact that they are absolute junk and I didn't want to get an aftermarket radio because I use the steering wheel controls all the time, plus I like the look of the factory CD player. I went to best buy and found this product.

It is the iSimple iPod adapter. It is still a FM transmitter but instead of being wireless it is hardwired to your radio therefore there is no static and it has CD quality sound. It is actually on sale right now and comes with a free install. I am very impressed with it and have no problems. The only thing is that you have to turn the volume up a little more than with a CD but its not bad at all. It even charges your iPod/iPhone. The install is clean. They ran it into the center console and it is very hidden but still very functional. I highly reccomend this to anyone who has had the same aggravation that I had. It will work for pretty much any vehicle so it is not just for f150's and it's not for any specific year so thats why I put it in general discussion.

So it was just the $115 plus tax? You ordered it online and dropped it off at Bestbuy to get installed? Looks like a good deal. I need something like this for my F-150 and Mustang.

I just went to bestbuy and they had it in stock. I asked the tech about it and 5 minutes later he was installing it in my truck. It took about an hour to install but it's no problem spending an hour in bestbuy except that you will probably leave with a 50" LED TV in the back of your truck. The total was around $125 with tax included.

thats cool. there are cheaper modules that use the aux function on you stock stereo, they dont go through any fm signal so you have perfectly clear audio. search P.I.E adapters on google and there are a few diffrent types for our trucks. but there is no charging, it uses your 3.5mm jack instead of your data jack.
