So does this mean that forking out 800-900 bucks for upgrades/mods on a truck that gets 15MPG to make it get 17-18 MPG would be well worth it if one plans to keep the truck for a while (prolly 3-5 years, maybe longer)?

Perhaps, you may find that you would take a couple of years just to break even on the cost of the upgrades. But, if you keep the truck for several years, it may be worth the extra expense now.

Hmm I wonder if that is why our ratings on new vehicles in Canada are rated as litres per 100 kilometres instead of kilometres per litre......LOL Looks good to the consumer to see that big 11 Hwy 13 City......
