Default Insurance rate

So I had a small 4x4 2016 pickup. When I went to trade it in, I called my insurance to get an estimate of what my new rate would be. I told them I was thinking about a 2019 F150. They informed me that it would go up about $100 a year. Ok. Now after purchasing the F150 and giving them the vin number my new quote is up $200 a year more than what I was paying. Anyone else get an increase with a 2019 purchase?

I went from a 2013 XLT with 302A package to a 2019 XLT with 302A, sport appearance package, etc.... Insurance jumped $93 every six months. So $200 a year is probably normal.

What is aggrivating is the fact that although the vehicle ages and drops in value....your premiums NEVER drop...at least that has been my experience.

I don't know what your insurance costs in USA, but in Saskatchewan insurance on a 2018 F150 Supercrew 302A with the 157 wheelbase total insurance cost is $1622.00 yearly, before taxes. I have a relatively clean driving record, 17 years since last at fault accident, & get a 20% discount, however I need to reach 20 years accident free to get 21% discount.
It would only be about $20 less to insure a 2016 with same specs

Would be interesting to see what other states/ provinces charge for insurance/ registration

I went from a `17 XLT to a `15 King Ranch & my rate went up $98 every six months. I have full tort on my three vehicles & decent homeowner`s coverage, but I pay for it. My monthly payment to State Farm is over $500. Insurance is affected by location, how many claims/tickets & accidents you have had. At least I don`t live in NJ, where they have some of, if not the highest rates in the country.

I'm in Jersey and it's cheap. Full coverage, 500 deductible, with towing , $100 windshield replacement, State Farm's and it's only $1,080 a year . 2013 crew 4x4.
Plus they pay fast, use original OEM parts and you pick the repair shop even a dealership if they have everything.

Used to be sky high. I remember those $5000 a year premiums being stupid and dumb 30 years ago. Tickets never a dui.

Those are the days I remember. NJ is still trying to be the state with the highest property taxes though.
