I plan to wash the engine on my 2013 F150 XLT 5L engine (as suggested in the owners manual).

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to protect the foam sound insulation material covering the fuel injectors and lines?

Remove it if you can, if not, wrap it with plastic bags perhaps?
