Default Initial Maintenance Checkup

I just bought a 2010 F150 and received an e-mai lthat i need to have and initial Maintenance Chek-up my truck has 3,151 miles on it right now. Do I need to do this before the recommended 5,000 miles?

Ford will send you emails when they think that you are coming up for service. Drive less than normal and you get the notice early.

Just drumming up business for the service department.

They want to inspect your truck to ensure everything is ok after the break in.

I get the same E-Mails and Post office mailings for
my 2010 I bought in OCT of 09. Only has 2700
miles on it.. My dealer gave me two free oil changes.
I used one already after making a trip pulling a travel
trailer. They said it really isn't needed until it reaches
5 to 7k. I told them I plan to change oil and filter
every 3k. It's the last new truck I'll ever own so
might as well service it more often.
