Information on blacking out exhaust tip
I am curious on what others here would suggest in regards to getting a blacked out exhaust pipe look.
The cheaper alternative would be to remove the current Chrome pipe, and spray paint with high temperature black paint. Has anyone here done this? How does it hold up? Would you be able to share a pic of the final product?
The other option would be to order a semi-expensive exhaust tip replacement. I am in Canada. Can anyone recommend a good online retailer, as well as a good black exhaust tip option?
I am pretty new to the entire modding scene. Any help would be appreciated on this matter.
Thanks.

Option 1:
Mine came with the factory chrome exhaust tip around the exhaust pipe that I ended up plastidipping. Since it's only a tip that goes around the muffler, there's not much heat and the product will hold & last. You can also easily remove the paint if you're tired of the look. A can of plastidip is 10$. Plus, with the rest of the can, you'll be able to plastidip your F150 emblems if you want

It does look very nice from the side, but it's less attractive from behind since you can see the rest of the exhaust which is silver (picture below is not mine).
Option 2
As for a black exhaust tip, I'd grab the cheapest one on ebay. Afterall, it's a piece of metal. It will cost you 3-4 times a can of paint.
Option 3
You can always paint the whole muffler section that is viewable from behind using high temperature paint, but that would be a permanent option.

That is ridiculously generous of you to offer. I would love to have a spare to test on, but I am not quite sure I can accept that offer. Maybe someone else that is less fortunate than I am could take you up on this.

Can I ask a similar question...For the exhaust pipe between the tip and muffler. Would a flat black high-heat paint work there? besides rock chips and such, I would think it would be ok.
crap, I didn't see that suggestion in post #2...disregard.

I dont have a pic but I've done this before on a Mustang I used to own. Removed the tips and just used a high heat flat black spray paint on them ( the type designed for grills ) and it turned out pretty good. I touched them up about every 3 years to keep looking fresh.
