IF I can find a Milwaukee on sale, it's mine. can go along with my other Milwaukee tools. But as I said earlier, the Craftman is getting the job done.

Heh if I did this stuff for a living......Snapon all the way.

I got mine on sale at HD for 350 with 3 5.0 batteries and another charger, but I have 5 other M18 tools and a crapload of M12's. I also got he 12.0 battery for my Birthday and you can disassemble a Small block Chevy on one charge with that

I already had several other M18 tools, batteries and chargers, so when I bought my 1/2" cordless impact (non-Fuel), I only bought the bare tool at HD for $169.

About two months later, I was in Rural King and they had a couple of them on clearance for $100. Then on top of that, they also had a special promotion going just that day, for $20 off of any $100+ purchase of clearance items. I got another M18 bare tool 1/2" cordless impact for $80! It's still in the box, I've never broke it out yet, other than to verify it was actually the right tool in the box when I was buying it.

Default torque wrench

At the risk of doubters flaming me, Harbor Freight has one that will definitely that the lugs off. It's $279.00 It's 3/4" drive. They also have a 1/2 in drive impact wrench that reviewers say will take off the lugs. It's $110.00. Those prices are at least 1/2 price of Snap on or Proto. I'd get the 1/2 HF and try it. Won't work take it back. Just keep it clean.

If you are looking at the Dewalt, the letter that comes after the model number represents the ah size of the battery. If it has a B, it's a bare tool in the US. A number after the letter tells you how many batteries the tool comes with.

C - 1.5ah

D - 2.0ah

L - 3.0ah

M - 4.0ah

P - 5.0ah

T - 6.0ah

X - 9.0ah

Default Does Hilti have any say at all in this debate?

I too am partial to red and I'm curious why nobody has mentioned Hilti. I'm looking at getting the -

SIW 6AT-A22 CORDLESS IMPACT WRENCH

Anvil type: 1/2" detent pinMaximum torque: 796 in-lb (1); 1195 in-lb (2); 1885 in-lb (3)Nut busting torque: 338 Nm
I'm no mechanic though I'm enjoying the work that i get to (have to) do along the way for maintenance and now upgrades finally . I'm buying this for the removal of my 17yo FX4s suspension primarily and I to help with the removal& upgrade of the old rusted manifolds, y-pipe and muffler. All in the name of Convenience. I'm getting a torque wrench after reading all of this. It's time anyway.

Is this hilti going to be overkill?

Is 1/2" better than 3/8"?

Cheers folks!

Steve83, is that TBS applicable to a 2005 f150? The nut busting capability of the hilti is within the range listed thigh the torque on this particular hilti does ahead appear to be too much based on the TBS you shared.

Nothing wrong with Hilti at all except for me with all the other red tools I have saying Milwaukee and the batteries don't interchange. I know that Hilti plug in tools are all good, still have an old TE12 downstairs that works every time I take it out of the case and it is close to 20 years old
