Default I would buy one of these

Was cruising the internet and ran across this. It would be awesome if Ford would pursue this. I would buy one ina heart beat.

Well, that article WAS over four years ago, and states that this engine was to be launched in the 2010 F150.... as attractive as this kind of engine is for its torque, I am not sure I would put up with the urea tank, noise and other expensive stuff related to having a compression ignition engine.
The EB has plenty of torque, does without the urea --- and is probably the engine that nixed this diesel being in the F150 at all.....

You do realize this article was published in 2008 right? This was before the EB was released and before they gave up the idea of a diesel for the EB option.

I think they made a mistake not making the diesel engine in the f-150!

No, if ford put a Diesel engine in the f150's then it'll cut into their diesel sales. That's why the stopped making rangers because it was cutting into the 150s sales

I do realize this article is 4 years old but it was a cool concept wish they had gone this route. The EB is an incredible engine but a diesel would be hella nice and probably better. Think about it. No intercooler issues. No shudder issues. A diesels tried and true history. And best of all modification would be cheaper and readely available versus an ecoboost.
