I need some help!
 

I just recently bent the crankshaft in my 1999 f150 lariat 4x4 supercab that has 170000 miles on it. It has a 2in lift with almost new 33in bfg all terrains on it. I am trying to figure what to do with truck. I am going to sell it but I don't know if I should try and find a good used motor or try and sell it like it is. How much could I get out of it with no motor? Would it even be worth the extra money to put another motor in it? I would really appreciate some help here. Thanks!

Depends, do you have the means to put a new motor in yourself if you found one? You'll be ahead in the long run with a motor than without, unless you find the right buyer.

I agree that you will be able to get more money with a working engine, then without. But how much more? It may not be worth the time and money to find and install a running engine. That is what you will need to figure out.

Yes that is what I figured, but I don't know what it would be worth without a motor. Does anyone have some numbers? Thanks

There's a whole lot of variables. What shape is the rest of your truck in? What's the blue book say assuming the engine was running?

All you can do is list it high and take the best offer. In the end, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. Go on Craig's list and get an idea from other trucks that are in similar condition in your area and go from there. Just be upfront about the engine and you should get close to what you are asking.
