Depending how many miles on the truck and over all cosmetic condition it's very possible it's worth more on trade than what you owe on it so you may not be upside down in that respect. The kicker however will be you may not get much in the way of down payment on a new truck. At the very least you may be able to get into a new truck with a only a few $$$ out of pocket. Mine was financed thru my credit union as well.

Once you work out a deal on a trade you can then take the required paper work to your CU and they will give you the required paper work for the dealer to send in absolving the original loan in favor of a new one.

I'd certainly look into it if I were in your shoes.

You can get a good idea how much it's worth on www.kbb.com and www.nada.com
.

When I say I don’t understand why ford won’t help, I’m not referring to helping me financially or doing free work. I’m curious about why they will not return phone calls and emails. This truck was bought from a dealership it was ford certified preowned. The vin was looked up and I had the car fax report. The mechanic that looked over the truck was the head mechanic at the dealership. I researched and test drove 11 trucks of the same model and found this one to be the best option for me. I feel I did everything I could do to purchase a trustworthy, reliable vehicle.

Believe me I get your hard luck.

I purchased an 05 f150 used for kbb fair price at 8k which included a second set of rims.

3 months later the timing on the engine went and I chose to go ford reman on the motor for exactly the reason you are having. yeah I paid 8k all said and done but I got 3 yrs of warranty on that motor. I am surprised that the seller of the used motor you got did not offer some 90 day or such warranty or were you past that?

Not to mention I have now also repaired rockers and cab corners and front bumper, shift ****, ash tray, rear brakes and am now looking at another 1200 for front brakes tie rod and ball joint to be done

These things wear and break down. Dont sweat the small stuff and honestly the big stuff happens that is the nature of buying used. Its a roll of the dice.

In the end I have and will put over 20k into the truck including what I paid for it. But 20k is still less than 50k for a new one. So trust me when I say I get your hard luck I do

Ford doesn’t give two ******’s about your loyalty. They know if they lose one ticked off customer they’ll replace you the next day with up a longtime GM loyalist who’s ticked off at them. I don’t understand why so many are proud to have such loyalty to companies like Ford/GM/Toyota/etc, because they couldn’t care less about you.

Not sure it's because they don't care about you as much as they'd go bankrupt "doing free work" repairing everyone's vehicle.

This sounds more like a dealer issue than Ford themselves.

I'm sure I'll get blasted for this, but you agree to warranty terms upon purchase. CPO or new.

Again I am not looking for anything free. I am simply looking for a response to emails and phone calls. I had a 100k mile warranty on the truck and was just past that when motor blew. With the new motor I had installed I got a 6 month 12,000 mile warranty. I own a Ford Mustang which I bought off of the showroom floor and also have had a ton of problems with it as well. My two previous vehicles were a Chevy Silverado which I traded for the ford I now have and a Chevy Malibu both which only required basic maintenance. The Silverado was traded in with 243k miles and still ran pretty well. This post is not an attempt to praise Chevy and discredit ford I am simply saying I buy vehicles I like and want to own I am not super loyal to one company or the other I have just been loyal to ford since 2010.

In 2014 Arthur hit the Cape Fear area of NC. My guess is this truck was one of the victims of flooding and you were the victim of an unscrupulous used car / totaled vehicle restoration specialist. Just a guess but these types of vehicles end up in Tennessee for repair and then get shipped all over the country after being purchased by wholesalers at the big SE auctions.
