My advice would be to go drive a King Ranch and if you like it, buy it.
This thread was started by one dude with a 'tude. Remember that people that buy, love, and have no problems with their vehicle rarely if ever stop by an internet forum just to gush about it. People that have issues with their vehicle will visit forums looking for answers or information however.
All car makers have issues. I don't see any reason you shouldn't consider the KR.

Yuppers, STX with rubber floor and hand crank windows in 2 wheel drive.
I would guess I'm about the only dude in oil rich Alberta who owns one since it took me 2 months of watching kijiji at finding a deal,,, most trucks here are fully loaded with 4x4's.
The truck comes with a radio that has crap on it that's way past my know how, dealer wanted to pair my phone to it before I left the lot, not sure if he realized that I'm still using the old crank phone from 1946, Ha.
AC to me is driving down the road with side windows down, tunes are songs I sing as I motor along at 80k or 50 mpr. I don't need brakes since I slow down before most intersections, and tilt steering is when I cut down threw the ditch. Power locks is when I reach over by hand to lock unit up.
I'm the less is more dude since bling coast money that I'd rather use to travel all of America,,, Canada and USA on my last 1 year outing.
Buy frugal and go far.

Depends on what you want. IF the Ford has the options you want then get a Ford. Personally, if I wanted a high end pickup, I'd probably get a 6.2 GMC with magnetic ride control. Ford is really lacking in the suspension department, it's shocking
