Default I don't want to loose my truck.

Gas prises are around $3.31 a gallon around here, I have a 25 mile commute to work, and I only make $7.50 an hour. My shifts range from 3-8 hours. Lately we haven't been busy so I haven't got many hours. I get between 12-15 mpg. So has is killing me. I drive about 250-300 miles a week. I can afford to drive but there's nothing left after. I was looking at a few rangers, and some sport tracs, but they won't get much better unless I get the 2.3l, but I need the room of the sport Trac and I need to pull a horse trailor fairly often. I'm sure the sport Trav could handle it. I guess this is more of a rant than anything, seeing how I need the truck I have. Anyone have a solution?

Is buying a beater DD an option? Like a cheap escort or something like that.

If I could find a $400 maybe, but I'd still have to insure both.

nah, get the cheap DD and park the truck until you can get some better cashflow to pay for your truck. then sell the DD and return to your truck. that way you dont have to insure both.

If you live someplace that would be compatible. Get a motorcycle. I ride my bike to work all the time. Big time gas saver. And cool too! "Bikes are cool!" *dr who voice.

But saving up for a dd is the problem. My checks about $300 I spend $140 of it for gas, after food and the lil bills I have it's gone. So I'm kinda stuck to trading. But like I said I don't want to get rid of the truck. I guess I will just suck it up.

Military is right then. Park it and go for a cheapie DD till things are looking better $ wise. It's rough sometimes. But it'll be worth it in the end man. Don't get rid of your truck!!! Least try your best not too lol.
