Huge New F150 in the City - Freaking Out

If you are just commuting and doing a one and done park for the day, you'll get used to it. If your job requires driving and parking in the city throughout the day, it would get old, but maybe that's just me. I'm a little ocd, so worrying about door dings, if I can find a parking spot, can I fit in that parking garage ect... That's why I also have a car but I know that's not always feasible.

You will get used to the size and like it more than ever. I have a 2008 Lariat SCREW 4X4 with 6.5 ft bed and like it more than ever after five years of ownership. I Never intended to garage it and it would not fit anyway. Just learn to estimate your turning circle. I frequently go over curbs while turning...that's why I bought a truck. I had a 2003 Explorer Eddie Bauer before and thought I loved it but I prefer my truck by far. On the highway I like the feeling of being larger and high up. You will love it.

it looks like the OP is either out there practicing, or he / she is in court trying to explain why he / she ripped out that Smart car in half while making a turn

yeah driving your new f150 will take some getting used to i have a f150 with the 5.5 box and i took me some getting used to backing into parking spots makes things easier if you dont have a back up camera i would suggest picking up an aftermarket one they sure make things easier take some time get used to it its worth it!!

I'd have to agree on the backup camera. Best truck option nextbtonthe.power sliding rear window... so why did it take so long to become some what standard equipment. I'm not sure(lack of demand?) At any rate... try parking at your local Mall to catch a movie (a really popular one). Parking is like for subcompacts. No worries....I've got the tow mirrors and back up camera - thank you Ford!
Ohh....and you know that triangle curb parking spot with the frickin tree planted right in the middle?! Sometimes just to squeeze in, you've got to roll up on over the curb parking spot just to fit in...4×4 works good for that!

To all you curb hoppers, how does your truck feel rolling down the highway? I've had bad luck with curb hopping ruining tires.

To the OP if he's still around....you'll get use to it driving in tight quarters. The vehicle becomes part of you and you'll know exactly how to handle it. That's the penalty I guess for driving a large vehicle. Makes you appreciate how the truckers and bus drivers do it everyday in the city!
