Everyone has their own likes & dislikes on a cover. I've always owned soft covers in the past, but with the Extang Encore, I like the idea of still folding up the sections to need to haul what I need... AND able to access the front section to get to my tool box.... All which is completely lockable. I can disassemble the whole unit in a matter of 15 seconds & haul & use 100% of my bed space. Lastly, it has nice "lines". (It has an "angled" edge versus a straight "boxy-looking" edge, like some other covers are shaped)... So for me, the Extang Encore was my decision & quite impressed & pleased with it.
There are plenty of other covers out there that are very nice.... That's what's nice about these forums... you can get ideas from other people, their uses, hear their likes & dislikes - which in turn, helps you & others make a good decision & investment.
Good luck with your choice & glad we can all help!

I recently picked up an undercover classic for 275 brand new basically. guy got it new with the truck a few weeks ago and didn't want it. looks great and went on in 5 minutes. will have to see how it does with water but the ability to lock it and have the tailgate also lock is nice. not bullet proof but enough to deter most from messing with your stuff.

Found a 100 year plus antique secretariat 2piece at the sale. It's 21.5" fit under the Extang solid fold for a 260 mile trip to the daughters place and new home thru a spring cloud burst an flooding everywhere unscathed. Without the top it would have been ruined.

Flipped it back and latched it. Hauled 2 big piles of Brush and a big Garbage can tossed on top to the reclaim/brush/leaves center, after return flipped it back down and latched it. Easy !

I purchased a Solid Fold for my 2013 a couple of weeks ago. It looks awesome and I like that I can put something in the bed and it's secure. The only thing I'm having a problem with is that it leaks like a sieve at both hinges. I did a lot of research before deciding on which brand to buy. Now I feel like I made a big mistake. I did email Extang but haven't heard back yet. Guess I got a lemon.

So far I'm liking the Bakflip VP. It went on the day I brought the truck home. That was two weeks and one day ago and it has rained nearly every day since. The box is still dry. The only thing I wish is that the front panel would open backward for quick access to the front of the box.
