I do believe that is what I said. You can say that about ANY vehicle that is driven in snow. To many people that have any kind of an all wheel drive vehicle believe they can drive faster and stop better because of the vehicle. I wish every one would take the cars or trucks out to a parking lot to see how it handles in snow before hitting the roads.

What I learned while living in New Hampshire was never drive faster than you want to wreck. In other words, going forward is normally easy. It's stopping that is often the hardest part.

Might be the best thing I have read in a while. Perfect saying.

Agree!! My biggest worry is that sports car with bald tire running into me. I got my end covered, it's the other guy I have to worry about.

Of course you will always have the occasional retard blowing by you at 70 MPH in their 4x4 on 6" of snow.

I live in Canada and you will drive like the roads are bare if you put your truck in 4H. It is easy to excelerate quickley but remember that stopping is still the same as any other car of truck.
You won't need any extra weight.

I don't think they had the trucks in four wheel drive mode!

Just remeber, 4x4 helps you go, but it doesn't help you stop!!! What helps best driving in the snow in any type of vehicle, 4x4, AWD, truck, SUV, car is common sense driving! Like an earlier poster said: safe distance, slow down.

I've seen plenty of morons flying past me on I-480 or I-90 here in the Cleveland area using their 4x4, then a few miles down they're smashed into the wall because they were driving like total jagoffs!

Having a 4wd truck makes me look forward to snow. Actually, I have always looked forward to heavy snow. 4wd in deep snow is awesome. Last year I had a 4wd ranger and ended up towing an old Honda CRX up a pretty good hill. 4wd and snow is just plain fun. You just have to remember that 4wd does not help you stop much, there is lower gears to shift into of course but it still doesnt help a ton. Also, steering is not helped much either. You may not get stuck, but you better pay attention to stopping distance and traction for steering.

Always fun, nice photo and great truck. I did same thing to learn to control the truck. Its cool to see the truck come out crystallized, frozen from snow.
To OP

Illinois few years ago got near 2 feet of snow in one night, most of roads were all closed. Vehicles were stuck, squad cars and SUVs were. Myself Had no problems going thru snow or driving around,
It's funny seeing people think just because their SUV or crossover vehicle says 4wd they try and go thru a big snow drift or do things our trucks can.
Enjoy your truck, great in the snow,

I did get a flat yesterday and after using my spare, I noticed it is in perfect shape. I am going to get 1 new tire and that will give me 2 new on the back for the winter. The fronts will be about 75% so that should help with traction in the snow. I will put one of the old rears as the spare. $210 spent wisely in my opinion
