Cut off muffler????
What if any effects would there be if I cut off my stock muffler right before the muffler? Would I throw codes, MPG loss, louder, etc? Thanks for in advance for your help.

So you're cutting off the muffler?
Rusty?
What are you hoping to achieve?
Louder? Most certainly.
Mpg? Would have same results as flow through muffler.
Codes? How old is truck?

I have a hole in the muffler already and is pretty rusty. I will eventually get a cat back system but have to save up some money. (prob. late summer) I have a 2002 SCrew King ranch f150 4x4

I would hold off cutting anything until you have a replacement ready to go immediately! Rusty muffler is better than no muffler and yes it certainly will be louder.
I doubt any codes will flash or get any engine warning lights but the local police may pull you over depending on where you live for excessive noise. You appear to be in the Military so if you live on base your fellow troops may not like a loud truck driving through at night...lol. For one I never liked a loud truck because I like to drive in the woods and last thing I need is a loud *** truck disturbing everything around me...lol.

if you dont have inspection before you get a new cat back... most def. cut it off...
If it's too loud your too old!
No codes will be thrown and it will be better flowing, for your truck, meaning you could average better MPG, in theory(won't really be noticable though) if you keep your foot out of it
I love the sound of cats and no muffler, very loud and you keep your tq going this way over catless with mufflers

I would wait. I cut mine off last summer and the noise was not good at all. The drone in the cab was the worst part. But you won't see any codes or loss of performance, your mpg's might go up slightly. Check out the thrush welded mufflers from summit 29.95 and they sound pretty good on these trucks.

Thrush welded is a knock off of the flowmaster...in other words, a piece of junk, as is the flowmaster, and not worth the $30.
The best quality trucks, deserve the best quality parts.
Magnaflow, is the way to go.
The 30" long, 7 or 8" round case is really nice, very close to stock quiet. Kinda like the 2011 f-150 with the stock straight through muffler.

^^^ knows wha he's talking about!
I wouldn't get a slowmaster either I've seen dyno's of them actually making less hp than a factory one in a few cases...
Both of my trucks will be catless with a 4" I/O magnaflow.
