You guys know that you are not supposed to fill your gas cans in the bed of your truck, right?

Agreed it turned out to be the wrong forum for discussing modifications. It sure surprised me. Waste of time is a good way to put it.

If anybody knew the answers why would they put up with this? Knowledgeable fellas probably bailed out of this forum a long time ago. Thanks to those who tried to help it was appreciated.

Not really. I told you how I did it with mine. Apparently it won't work like that for yours though.

Disconnect your fuel filter. Put hose in can. Turn on key. When full, turn key off and reconnect fuel filter. Your fuel pump will run until it reaches a certain psi so it will not stop with a open end until you stop the power.

I don't see how that would hurt your fuel pump I mean it runs continuously while driving. And before I started hacking up fuel lines that's what I'd try.

OK sorry Sean this is the first forum I've seen with the "thanks" feature. I went back and did all the thanks to those who tried to help.

It is kinda interesting the thanks traded back and forth that are not for the topic they are more like "thanks for helping me to derail this topic". Well I learned something today about F150forum, so "thanks" to you other guys too, I guess.

Understood you are proposing a test, but that sounds like 1980s trucks. Will a 2013 onboard computer allow the fuelpump to run on like that?

Only one way to see. Prolly a better chance than anything anyone else has offered.

I don't think so. AFAIK there is no pressure transducer in the fuel system. The normal way to do it is to look at the spark for engine operation. If the engine is running, the pump runs. If the engine stops, the pump stops.
