I know this is an old thread but I have a question. Did you bake while wet or dry?

Why not bake them? Too easy to melt? Did you have better luck with the clear coat?

In a kitchen oven?!?! Baking a painted piece in a kitchen oven? A junk oven you don't use for food i could see, like people do for powder coat. An oven you eat food out of? You'd be cooking carcinogens into your oven.

Paint is extremely heat sensitive. A painted plastic piece that close to a heating element will melt. Or cook the paint. Infra red heat lamps in a professional setting are set 3 ft away minimum for a reason. You can boil the paint off when the surface temp gets too high

Yes I agree with that. I have my own separate oven in which to do my "baking". Thanks for the heads up though.

I still wouldn't bake an oval or emblem in an actual oven

What size do you need? I have a 9" and a 7" that I had dipped and peeled it all off. They are both the ones that come apart (3D style) PM me if interested.

For those curious..

AA8Z-9942528-A

This is the emblem part # can be found on ebay / amazon. (I bought mine on ebay).

This emblem is the newer design, that can be disassembled (I used an solder iron, old tip).. so you can custom spray the emblem any color..

Apparently people who custom spray emblems don't want people to know the part # or how the do it.. the 3+ people I have asked failed to tell me the part #..

The more you know. DIY

I love how you say people that do this won't tell you the part number or how to do it. This thread is a "HOW TO" thread. This thread shows you how to do it! Not to mention there are countless "how to's" on this throughout the forum. I've done one myself
