Yeah I thought it was weird too. Greatly appreciate everyone's feedback, will be getting oil changed and tires rotated this week. Also sounds like the Wranglers are probably my best bet for multipurpose. I don't do that much offroading really, towing my trailer a lot of places so will stick with these tires.

The wranglers are not that great for this Oregon rain, but as another mentioned, if I've got heaps of stuff in the back they are much better. Once you're going they are just fine, it's just the initial start that sometimes sends the tires spinning.

Exactly that's what really bothers me is when I first start to accelerate the Wranglers seem to spin out a bit which is kind of embarrassing for having such a nice new truck.. but are there superior tires that wouldn't spin out like that?

Mobil 1 can go 12k no issue in reg engine but dfi, no way i would take the change. I change min at the olm intervals and they are usually pretty consistent within a 1000 miles or os. Typicall 7.5 - 9.2k depending on the time of year, driving ect.

I'm sure there are some that would be less spin, but even my hatch tires spin out given enough acceleration. You just have to find that happy medium of giving it enough gas to get off the line not like granny, but not like a race car driver.

I just had the oil changed for free at the dealer @ 3000 ( brand new truck ). Aside from this oil change...

I change my oil every 6 months ( 5-6K miles ) for me and my tires at the same time. If the truck is already on a lift why not.

I change the oil when the computer tells me to change it. As for tire rotation, I've never rotated tires on any car I've ever owned and never had any issues with tread life. Easily get 50k miles out of most tires. This is the first truck I've owned so I don't know if it will be a bigger deal but I don't plan on rotating.

1. How often do you get your f150 oil changed? I've put 17,000 miles on my truck now... when I took it into a dealership at 12,000 miles they said the oil levels are perfectly fine. The oil gauge is still right in the middle at 17,000 miles. Used to hear you should get oil changed every 3,000 miles, then it changed to every 5,000... is it different for a F150?

2. How often do you guys get your tires rotated on your F150?

3. I'm using the Wrangler tires that came with my truck. They're pretty solid multi purpose tires, but noticed some gripping issues on wet surfaces at times. Would kind of prefer beefier tires that could handle a little more intense offroading and that would grip better. Any you could recommend?

Thanks for any advice on the above guys and have a happy New Year!
what do you mean by the oil gauge is right in the middle!

I change my oil every 5k using Mobil 1 full synthetic (overkill I know) and rotate the tires at the same time. I'm currently using BFG K02's which are excellent for off road (I'm told) and pretty good on road.

Every 5000 I change the oil and rotate the tires. You can't hurt the truck changing the oil too much but can by not changing it enough.
