How much mileage we can expect from a F-150?
I have rusts on the box of my truck. A nice job to have it fixed would be about $2500. Because of the mileage of my truck, close to 300 000 km (185 000 mi), and the age, it is a 2009, the body shop suggested to install Bushwacker fender to simply hide the rust for about $600. Matter of personal taste, I don't like those much but moneywise, I like them.
Thinking about this rust problem, I wonder how much clicks one can expect to do with a F-150? Does someone here have a good experience with F-150 to have an average of how much clicks we can do before retiring a F-150?
My truck is a 2009, XLT XTR, Crew-cab, 4,6L 4WD
Thanks

I got well over 200k out of my ‘96 F-150 before I traded up. It needed some work now and then and also had some body rust but overall that thing was a good running, dependable truck.

I mean it's really up to you, but the amount of miles (clicks) depends on how much money you want to put into it for repairs. I've seen a lot of trucks with 300k+ that have had new engines, transmissions, etc.
There is no definite number, it just comes down to if you want to keep putting money into it. If it was my truck, I'd fix the rust the right way (for the extra $1900 over the fender flares). The fender flares don't fix anything except for how it looks.

Pull a non-rusty box from the wrecking yard and just swap it? Should be do-able for under $600. Look for the correct color and length from 2009 to 2014.

I bought 2013 f150 super cab, it was a salesman truck for company my wife works, he did not haul anything, just drove all over the N east 1/2 of Texas. I have all repair records since it was new and it was serviced every 4500 to 5000 miles (oil filter, brakes, anything thing was necessary) the truck was is well cared for. current
mileage is 288750, I bought at a very good price. I have had it for 4 months, no problems as of now. Im happy with it. Hope for another 50,000 miles.

Mine has about the same treatment. I do not haul anything and take great care of it. I call it my second living room. The major problems are the salt on the roads and the cold weather winter. I leave in Canada where the winter is tough on cars. I hope I'll be able to go that far with mine.
Thanks

I'm driving a 2004 Lariat that I *THOUGHT* I was getting a killer deal on. Paid just over 5grand for it and the odometer was at 226000 miles. But the body and interior was almost like new. Unfortunately I had to replace the engine & trans after just 4 months. (It's too long of a story but basically the used car lot I got it from "saw me coming" and I got hosed.)
So yesterday it turned 243,000 miles and I am pleased as a pig in mud with it. If my wife would hurry up and win the lottery I'd be at the Ford dealer in a heartbeat buying a new one, but since that's unlikely to happen, I see myself driving this thing for many years to come.

From personel experience depends on where you live and how you use it. At my old company they still have a 96, F250 with 1gen Power Stroke in occasional service. When I sold out in 2105 it had about 380,000 and still going. On its second transmission. Bench seat was so bad maintenance guy put a couple of buckets in it. Pretty rough but still in service. My dear departed dad bought a new F150 in 78 with the big 460 motor. Sold it with 275,000. Clean as a pin, original engine and trans. No major engine or trans work. Consider aircraft that are on a tight maintenance program. Take a look sometime at the vehicles on the ramp when you fly. You just might see a Ford from the 60's. Reason, same maintenance program.
