I've probably skimmed past it but Year? Engine? Miles?

I know it was just a couple of days ago, reading a thread that was about the exact same issues as yours. Of course I can't find it. Will keep trying.

2014 STX 5.0 4x4 is the truck. 108k miles

honestly, I’m running some premium gas and some sea foam. Its been cranking fine(for now). As I was walking out the shop owner said I can either spend a lot of money trying to chase a hit or miss problem, or just wait until it gets worse and bring it back in.

So im just going to wait. But I won’t be going back to that shop. Owner seems decent, but probably keeps his usuals happy first.

He will probably be up all night wondering where he went wrong and what he could possibly do to earn back your business.

Did the cranking issue start about the same time? If so, check the boots, make sure they're on correctly. Were the gaps checked before install?

No. Cranking issue set in after 20,000 miles of driving.
