How Long does the 3.5 EcoBoost Last?...

1,000,000 + EB engines made. Yep gonna see issues a lot more than if only 10,000 were made. It's the nature of the beast. A couple others pointed it out, the engine is only as good as the maintenance that was performed on it. I have had 6 EB powered vehicles and the engines were troublefree to the moment I handed the keys over to the new owners.

2014 3.5 EB here with 132k miles. ZERO issues. Just oil, one set of spark plugs and a few coils. Been an excellent truck. Guy down the street has a 2012 as well with 210k miles no issues.
Now that I’ve owned a forced induction truck I don’t think I could ever go back to N/A.

Turbos shouldn't scare you - consider pretty much EVERY really heavy truck (class 8) has had a turbo engine for... Well ever... And they routinely run 1M miles if maintained and not grossly abused.
Ford is hedging it's fuel economy future on Ecoboosts and the last thing they want is a class action suit. I'm a firm believer in the efforts to validate these engines, and the horror stories you find are just an indication of the NUMBER of these engines out there.
