How Long does the 3.5 EcoBoost Last?...
Hello,
It is now March 2018 and I am looking at buying a 2014 Lariat 3.5 Ecoboost with 107k miles on it. has been a one owner and the body appears to be in great shape, still stock. They want $24,500 for it. Is that a reasonable price, and is that too high of miles?
I've only had a Mustang, and am not familiar with trucks what so ever.
Thanks guys!

Ive had more than one Ford tech tell me IF im going to buy a used F150 get the V8, too many issues with the EcoBoost, now im sure there are many here that will argue that, and those same people probably own one,,,if it were me and I was buying a truck with 100k miles id look for a V8...its the NOT knowing the maintenance that was or was not done on that Ecoboost, and that's what im being told is KEY !,,,,good luck

Not to be mean, but everyone knows a ford/Chevy/Dodge tech who says one thing or another. If you look hard enough you can search and find all the reviews to prove both side of the turbo/non-turbo debate. And when buying used, you take a chance on how well maintained the vehicle is. Unless there are service records the dealer has that proves regular maintenance was done. I’ve alwasy been a fan of buying a lesser optioned newer vehicle over buying more luxury with higher miles.

Another 5.0 vs EcoBoost thread? Get out the extinguisher, I feel another "dumpster fire" coming on!

There's a guy Dougt69 over on f150ecoboost.net who hit a relatively trouble free 256K last year on his 2011. Here's his pic:
Another guy over there Tommc was closing in on 300K with his 2013 back in December.
There is yet another guy over there 510rider who took a pic at 300K on his 2011. He later handed it down to his son at 366K. He's going to update the thread when it hits 400K. http://www.f150ecoboost.net/forum/6-...eco-boost.html
Then there is this example below. I hope to duplicate their results and have no doubt that with good maintenance it will not be an issue. No weep holes or catch cans on any of these as far as I can tell.

A few people on the internet means nothing other than it is technically possible. Nobody is arguing that. Someone else can probably post 10 examples of where their engine blew up before 100k. Meaningless data either way.
