How far can you ACTUALLY drive on "0 miles to empty" ?

I ran my truck down to the red E line today. I am switching out the 87 and going with 93 since I got tunes fro MPT. truck said 12 miles till empty. I put in 23.38 gallons of 93, and have a 24 gallon tank. Mine may have been closer than his. My idiot light had been going off since yesterday.
I didn't feel comfortable going any further than that. I'll run this tank down below 1/4, and then fill up again before loading the 93 performance tune.

I don't know how far past "0 to empty" I could go, but I've driven my truck to "0 to empty" several times. I'm not really concerned about running out, as at that point I'm still putting 30 gallons in my 36 gallon tank so I figure I've got at least 3-4 gallons to spare.

He's the same guy that posted a video about what he hates about his truck. He complains about fingerprints on the touchscreen with the screen looking like someone sneezed on it.

That's something my wife's son in law would try and he has a masters degree.

I was at 10mi to empty, backed into my driveway which slopes toward the road, and it wouldnt start in the morning. Had to coast down the driveway in N and start it on flat ground. I forget how many gallons it took that day, but i always fill up by the 30mi to empty mark now.

If you really want to push it that far I guess you could get a pretty good average MPG ( fill up to fill up) not what gauge says and when the gas lt comes on ck miles /MPG to see how many miles left.

Drove a squad car 25 years. Never knew when a call would come in with an address 40-50 miles away....and you can burn a LOT of gas trying to respond that distance, then burn what's left at the scene with engine idling for hours!
NEVER let my gas gauge get below 1/4 to 1/2. Still don't, and I'm puzzled by those who do.
