Seems like on forums, you typically hear the negative and not to much on the positive side. Just thought I would make some comments about my new 2015 Ford F-150......
I installed a Ford factory trailer brake controller in my new F-150 Supercab the other day. When I pulled out the plastic pocket from the dash panel so I could insert the brake controller, I noticed it looked like someone inscribed their initials on the plastic pocket. The initials are "D. S.". If they indeed, are initials, Ford, please tell DS that he/she and the rest of the Ford team in Dearborn, did a great job building my 2015 F-150 XLT Supercab. I absolutely love it! Their work is fantastic! Please keep it up!
Been buying Fords for decades and will continue!

I have owned somewhere around 41 Fords dating back to my oldest one - 1948 F1. It was my only vehicle when my wife and I were dating.
Many good memories and only 1 bad Ford in all my driving years.
Currently have a 2010 SHO and a 2004 F-150. Both of these vehicles are great.
I have also owned many other brands - although most never compared to Ford quality and satisfaction.
So, thanks to Ford from me also.

DS had his hands on mine, too

I was doing the same thing this week and was surprised to find this inscription on my coin tray as well. DS must be a mischievous fella - I wonder how many trucks he left his mark on.

That "D.S." could mean a lot of things. "Driver's Side" "D-station" etc. Or some guy/gal's name.
I'm very happy with my 2016 as well. 21k trouble free miles so far.

Don't know if it really stands for initials but in any case, I am still quite pleased with my 2015 F-150. No issues yet. Mileage is incredible. I consistently get 23mpg or more on the highway (as high as 25mpg one trip)and am usually ticking off 20 to 21 around town. I am definitely OK with that! ;-)

That's actually inscribed in the mold that made that cover. It was obviously added after the tool was made. Sometimes that's done to indicate a change in vendor or identification for other purposes. Like others have said "Driver's Side" or perhaps an "on the fly" change to the part.
