Default angle of exhaust exit?

i said a while a go i want to put an exhaust on my truck. it is a 93 f150 4.9l 5spd. if i want a little more horse power what would be better a 45 degree angle out the side after tire or straight out the back. and what about sound. i know the straight 6 doesnt have that good of a tone.

either way its prolly going to sound and perform the same. just that it would come out differently.

Im not following you very well....

but IMO anything past the muffler aint going to really change anything.
now if you have true duals and dont put an H or X pipe in then you will have different sounds comming out both sides and sound kinda raspy and unclear. this help any?

My tip is at like a 45 degree angle, but what I had done was turn the tip and follow the body lines.

i was saying that right now i have a pipe taking place of the muffler and coming out the stock position. if i put a y pipe on and have it come out 2 spots it would have a better tone than it has now? even though the 4.9l doesnt have that good of a tone right now.

Dude, please don't be offended, but it's not gonna sound much better either way. You may actually make it a tick louder by adding the second pipe. Straight six, V6...not gonna sound real good in the end either way.

At this point, it's all about what you think looks better, single or dual exhaust pipes coming out at the rear of your truck.

I don't think he's wanting to know how it looks as much as he's wanting to know if it will change the sound and performance of what he's already done. Or at least that's what I'm getting from the post...

Oh ok my bad. I read it wrong. You're not gonna get a noticeable difference if you go straight out the back or angled. It will sound the same
