No template needed, it would just make the job more difficult trying to line up. Just buy a piece of vinyl and follow instructions I provided. Very easy to do.
Post #14. Thanks for the reminder. Aqualung |
Shortcut?
I'd like to see if I can install the vinyl over the pillars without removing them and all the trim.
My only problem is the keypad. Is there an easy way to remove it without removing the pillar? I figure with careful prying, I can get it away from the pillar enough to press in the retainer "ears" with something thin and flat. Are they at the top and bottom or on the sides? Or, is that not possible due to screws or other retainers only accessible from the inside? Thanks. Aqualung |
It's just clipped in with clips on either end. They looked awful fragile when I did my pillars. It only takes maybe 10 minutes to remove the cover and not take any chances.

You're right, as I'd be really pissed when (not "if") I snapped something... Aqualung |
Thanks JohnDay for the advice! Between what you told me/us and a little help from YouTube, I wrapped my pillars. Was just waiting for some nice weather. I also installed my Stampede window shades.
I took the pillars off with no issues and did the wrap inside. Zero problem, glad to help. Any idea on why Ford decided to put that keypad at such a crazy angle?

You do know that I'm gonna have to go out during my lunch break to straighten it! It must have slipped into the notch that's to the right of the top of the slot. Aqualung |

Just use a buffer and compound and the scratches come right out. Top it off with the wax of your choice.
