Default Help picking a trucks, need opinions...

So Im selling my pony for a truck. Ill be putting down 5000$.
Anyways, Im stuck on a choice.
For 12k i can get a scab 4x4 or for 13k a superscrew 2wd.
Or get a quad ram 1500 for 13k 4x4. (these are 04-06s)
I love ford, but the rams looking nice too.
Or i could go for a 4x4 superscrew 01-03 for 8-11k.
Im mixed on this, the 01-03 would have more milage, but id have more $ to work on it yet the newer ones have less miles.
also this vehicle ill be using to build some credit too.

So any tips to picking a truck, ideas on dodge, if i get a ford which aounds smarter?

PS: i plan on offroading atleast once a monthish other than winter.

thanks.

I'd really try and hold off and wait a couple more months.. I promise you truck prices will DROP!!! Stay with Ford, they don't excell in any area, but are just overall amazing. Try and find a 04-08 Screw 4x4... You'll be around 100k miles which is usually fine for these trucks. Mines for sale right now 14k.

I prefer the look of a scab over a screw... However I often wish I would have gotten a screw, especially when dating my last girlfriend who had a 4 year old...

I also prefer a 4x4 over a two wheel drive... Two wheel drives can go a lot of places- but anyone who says that there two wheel drive can go anywhere my 4 wheel drive can is full of and if they were local- I'd tell them to put their money where their mouth is.

That said- if you aren't traversing terrain and simply playing in the mud- a two wheel drive may be a more economical choice.

I'd get the 4x4 scab...... but then again- I'm biased..

I love the looks of the 04-08 compared to the 01-03s and i like the scab and supercrew, both look good imo. But my gfs wanting me to grab a 4door and itd help more.
Ofc the dodge is cheaper lol, but theres prob a bad reason 4 that
