I live in a college town where 90% of the trucks you see are lifted, and I LOVE the look. I drive a 2022 Lariat FX4, entirely stock, on 18" wheels. I have been wanting to lift/level my truck and put new tires on it to give it a more aggressive look without driving around looking all jacked up while still being able to fit in standard parking garages. I've talked with lots of guys around town that I see whose trucks I like, and everything ranges from a 2" level to a 4" lift. My favorite look, for the most part, has been a 3" level on the front and a 2" level on the back. I do not know what to do, how to research, or where to look. I don't do much with the truck besides driving it to and from school, with the occasional trailer hauling and spinning some donuts in the dirt parking lot. I've been reading the forum and saw guys saying they do 2" levels on only the front or this and that. I don't want to make the mistake of getting everything I want and having it just not be "big" enough, or ending up TOO big. I was hoping y'all could give some input, maybe throw in some reference pictures. The only thing I know right now is that I want to put 295x65xr20 tires on Fuel Rebel's 20x9+1 wheels (I don't want to go wide, just high). My other question is that putting bigger tires on it, I'm going to assume that they will rub on the wheel wells while turning? And if so, how can I combat that? If I'm going to do it, I'm doing it right, and I would really appreciate y'alls help.
As far as rubbing is concerned, I would keep the width of the tire the same as stock. I had a Ranger with wider tires and they rubbed on the tie-rods. I had to put spacers on the front wheels so they wouldn't rub.
I can't speak much for hight but unless you go crazy, rubbing shouldn't be a huge concern.
Then again, I'm no mechanic, please correct me if you know any better.
Per Toyo, those tires are 35.12" tall. With that +1 offset, even with a 2" level, you will be rubbing.
I suggest dropping down to a real 34" tire, and +18/+20 or so wheel, and a 2.5" level.
Here's my truck with 2.5/3" level, 2" block in the rear, 305/70/17, 33.9" tires, +20 wheels. Zero trouble at all. With the 2" rear block, I've got right around 1/4 to 1/2"of rake left.
