Headlight bulbs - What's the best / brightest?

Companies such as koito, Stanley, and Morimoto have poured money into researching this so that they can design optimal parts to push the light to its limits.

If you can afford them, the OEM LED Kits are the best money can buy. But at $1,650 they are expensive. Your next best option (if you can) is to have a retrofitter build you something with projection LEDs/HIDs in the lense. That is your next best option. That can get pricey as well and if you have a 2015+ better be prepared to wait since nobody is making them yet.
However for 80% of the rest of us, you can use a quality LED kit. If your LED kit cost you less then $100 you got crap. If your LED kit does not have a ballast/driver, you got crap. A real LED kit, like an HID kit, should have a ballast/driver.
On the 2015+ kits it was hard to find a kit because of the design of the headlight. Not that a bulb would not fit, but where did you hide the driver? Earlier years did not have that issue.
Now I've been using this kit (which is why I sell it) and it's worked great for me so far, and I've tried a few out. I actually opened my store BECAUSE this kit worked and I wanted to offer it to the rest of the community. Do I make a lot on these, not by a long shot, but that's fine. Being an F-150 owner myself I want to help you guys out (and if I can stock something you want, where I can make money later, hey that's great news).
Just visit my site if you are looking for the LED bulbs. There's a link for F-150s, but if you use the bulb finder you can find any bulb for any vehicle. The 2015+ kits INCLUDE the headlight dust cap you need (don't use any kit that has you REMOVE it or PUTS A HOLE in it... big no no, and i learned my lesson from those).
Here is what my LED's look like. They look great, I think, and I've yet to get high-beamed once or witnessed anybody adjusting their rear view mirrors:

Anyone know if there is a way to disable to fog lights from coming on at night when you open the doors? If I'm going with hids for lows and fogs I don't want them to be coming on and going off when I open and close the doors. The headlights stay off its just the fogs that come on.

So, I don't feel I'm a big enough douche with my factory HIDs in my '13 FX4. I mean,I can only light up highway signs for about a mile. How can I make these badboys brighter? If I'm not peeing-off everyone on the road, I don't feel like a man! Any useful suggestions?

Go with LED's elfiero, lol. You can get more lumen out of LED's. The ones I use have 6,000 lumen per bulb, REALLY bright. I love pissing people off as well lol
I'm not sure what the lumen output is on the modern HID systems... but HID is a bit older technology.
A great analogy is Plasma Screens vs LCD screens. Plasmas were very popular when LCD came out because they had better blacks, but the LCDs were cheaper and better looking.
Same thing here. People love the older technology of HIDs over LED... in another year nobody will even bother with HID anymore

In order to solve the problem of not bright, it is recommended to replace the led headlights.
