Default Going from EEC IV to aftermarket EFI

I was wondering if anyone else on this board has tried to switch from the factory EEC IV fuel injection system to a aftermarket EFI System and not rewire the entire truck? If you go to my build page you can see that I have the Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 system that is self contained. I also have the US Shift trans controller to take care of the 4r70W needs. so far I have yanked the PCM and started to pull the engine compartment harness apart to loose all the unnecessary wires.

Has anybody else gone through this madness?

So I'm guessing no one here has gone from factory EFI to aftermarket EFI.

What about going from factory EFI to a carb?

I'm just looking for some insight on how to hack the EFI parts out of the harness. I think I'm almost there after hours of staring at factory wiring schematics.

I don't have any information that will help you. I was just wondering where you ended up with this swap as it is something I am considering (or a Holley Sniper EFI). I have a manual, so I don't have to worry about the transmission controller. Don't the aftermarket EFI kits come with all the wiring you need? I'd just abandon the stock stuff and leave it there, or run a whole new harness and integrate the new EFI one into it. Depends on the condition of the old one.
My dad did speed density to maf to carb on his old Bronco, and vaguely remembers most of the process. It's something I'm considering since I think he has a 4bbl laying around that I could use.
