Dearborn truck plant, 5/17. I don't have the exact date.

To me using a genuine Ford part may have the same weakness.
That could be, but with all of these being built with 4X4, I imagine they got thru a different lot of these rather quickly.
Funny thing here, I kept my original valve, and just out of curiosity, I sucked on it when it was cold this morning, 23F, and again after it warmed up in the truck. Sure thing, after it warmed up, it worked.

You should have a Ford/UAW sticker on the right lower corner of the windshield, that should tell you the location.
On your door sticker, there is a date on the top line, month/year. I think if you took the VIN, you find the exact date by doing a search. Door sticker might have the location too, I can't recall.

Windshield, funny thing is mine had to be replaced already. Yep, just an hour after buying the truck, an 18 wheeler through up a rock that hit the windshield near the A pillar drivers side.. It caused a crack that started there and eventually went in my line of site and continued across the windshield.
I will check the door sticker.
My search so far has yielded nothing regarding build date, using the VIN.

I just tried 4 or 5 VIN decoders myself. Totally useless, even the Ford site didn't pull up my truck.
In the past I've used the Ford site, and it worked for my '12 and my '04. I don't where to find the info now.
Can't understand why it's a secret.

I'm not sure it is isolated to any particular gen. of the truck. Mine is a 2010. Now, I don't know if it was just the valve, the solenoid or both that mine needed. I'm not about to put my old solenoid on to see as I am just going to leave well enough alone. However, seeing that the dealer took a valve from a 2017 and put it on mine, it would seem they are interchangeable.

Just looked up the solenoid for a 2010, and a 2017, they're the same part number. I know for certain the checkvales are different.

The new one has to be a re-design.
Remember this is my first Ford.
Has this issue with the four wheel drive, occurred on All Ford's in years past?

The only thing I know, is that the vac pump is now driven off the back of the right cylinder head. I realize it pulls a vac when the engine is under boost, for the brakes, IWE, etc.
Right now, and intermittently, it sounds like my left front IWE, is wanting to engage under light acceleration, sounds like a stone caught between rotor and dust shield. I can get it to stop by letting off the pedal, thereby increasing vac like on a NA engine. That's how I figured it's the IWE.
Yes, under warranty, just wanting info to educate myself and others.
Damn, you just got the truck and already having problems? I'm keeping mine FOREVER!!
