You're very welcome, glad I could help. TBH, I totally forgot about this thread, or I would have updated it. There is a new updated version of the checkvalve. Ford came out with it a few months ago. Here's a photo of the latest greatest from them. Hopefully it's better than what we had OEM.

I have this same noise on my 2018 3.5 EB. Haven't replaced the check valve yet but I thought I'd share how I diagnosed the problem. My service guy at the local dealership said to shift into 4wd on the fly while it's making the noise. It immediately silenced the grinding for me so I'm almost positive it's the check valve or something else in the vacuum system. Hope this helps and I'll update again once I get it fixed. Exactly. You definitely have a vacuum problem somewhere. I can't recall if it's been mentioned in this thread, but it's advisable to run in 4A if you have it, or pull the power at the solenoid. Either way, your IWEs will stay engaged, and prevent any more damage that may have occurred.
