Happy to say that I have not had any issues with IWE grinding noise since replacing the check valve. When I removed mine it appeared to work correctly, as in only leaks air one way. However, after letting it sit in the snow for about 15 and testing again it leaked! Replaced valve, been two weeks and no issues!

AFTER 62 DAYS at the dealership... They rebuilt my transmission (and it didn't go back together correctly), then they ultimatley replaced the entire tranny with a brand new one. Just got it back 3 days ago. Everything seems fine now.

So, mine was not the IWE- but a bad transmission.

Sorry, didn't see your post. Yes, the YG360 will fit/work.

WRONG- Have had the truck back for just over a week. 7th gear, light acceleration, up a hill. I heard the noise again. (Very light, but I swear I heard it again)
I'm just gonna buy the damn check valve myself and see what happens.

Default f150 4x4

I have a 2017 5.0L with 4x4 that has been experiencing the same problems. I have been told at the dealership that they couldn't recreate the problem. now its happening more often and to the extent of the truck feeling like it is locked and lots of grinding noise. has anyone had any solutions???

Yep, many of the guys in this thread have had success with replacing the checkvalve. Grab a nice hot cup of coffee, beer, or scotch, and have a read.

Thanks for this informative thread. Driving home in my '17 Raptor today--with less than 19K miles on it--I noticed a "grinding" sound for the first time. Engine was warm and it's likely high 90's here in Houston. At first I thought it was turbo related, as I only noticed the sound during the first few turbo PSI as I accelerated. Hope it's the check valve, but do the 2WD to 4WD test mentioned by others. I'll also have the dealership check when I in to have them replace my keyless entry keypad, which is halfway falling off already. (Yes, I had to use two-sided Gorilla tape on my new $70K+ vehicle to keep it from falling off!)

Love the look and feel of my ride, but these amateurish issues happening so early on are making me question whether I should have stuck with the exceedingly reliable Japanese rides I've had over the year (e.g., Infiniti, Lexus, Toyota and Nissan). They just can't touch the Raptor look though.

I'm under warranty through 100K, but going to and from the dealer is a pain in the rear.

I guess misery loves company and I appreciate having you guys as new company. Thanks again for the info and expertise!

P.S. Until it warms up, the damn thing "jumps" noticeable when shifting from 4th to 5th gear.

Welcome BowesEsq, glad you gained something out of this. There are a few other threads here about this same problem. Our search function isn't the best, suggest you do a "google", and you'll likely pull a bunch of them up. Try frontend grinding, that'll get you started.

This thread is a life saver. Same thing happened to me for the first time this morning. 2018 3.5 EB 26K miles. I've only had the truck for a month. Scary feeling after paying big money for a truck. Hoping like hell this fixes it. Thanks for the help @johnday !!!
