Sounds like a gauge test. The 2010's do that too.

I read in one of the other previous thread, that it could be an issue with the alternator or the battery. Other than the 2010 F150, I read that it is not normal to do this. I previously owned a 1997 and a 2005, and they never did a gauge spike. I have a 2010 and it does this every time, but when I searched "gauge spike" on here, I read it was only supposed to happen on new ones. Hope that helps, I will see if I can find that thread.

mine did that when the alternator went. when i turned it on it did a gauge sweep and then went back to normal. i changed the alternator and now its fine.

I would also check your ground wire from fuse panel for corrosion.. firewall near the e brake just a thought... my 02 4.6 went haywire toke me 4 days to figure it out

Battery... Put a charger on it and I will almost bet that it starts up no problem and doesn't shake like a crack head in withdrawal. My 04 fx4 and wife's Sport Trac did the same thing when the batteries were toast...

my 02 and 08 did this when my batt when bad...

Hummmmmmmm, makes me wonder what my 2010 is
gonna do when my battery is ready for replacement.
Maybe *no* gauge test?

So would I have a battery issue as well? I swapped my cluster to LEDs. Everything was fine, then all of a sudden, my speedo jumps. For example, the speedo will be fine, when I get to 40-50, it sticks there, and doesnt come back down. Then if I shut it off, come out and start up later (needle still stuck) it will move from there and then stick. Sometimes its buried past 120, and I'm only goin 45. If I pull my right harness into the Cluster, then plug it back it, the needles "wind" and reset. The truck will be good until I hit 40-50 again. Is this battery issue, is this a needle issue, or is my whole cluster bout to crap out? Any input would be great!

Didnt mean to rob. Just figured we should keep all this stuff together, since its somewhat relative. Thanks again I.A.!

Read through this thread. https://www.f150forum.com/f6/hidden-...cluster-40481/

Then follow this chart. http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/News/99hec.htm
