FX4 build 3.73 rear end without max tow package
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum!
So I went in to the dealer today and ordered a 2014 F150 FX4 with EB and 3.73 rear end, lux package. Everything seemed fine. I just got a call from the dealership saying they can't order the 3.73 e-locker without the max tow package. I can get on the ford web site and configure it no problem like that.
I've asked them to double check, because I specifically wanted it without the max tow package and dumbo ears. Do any of you guys know of such a build?

Mine, but it's a 2011. You should def. be able to order a truck like that.

The OP's issue is selecting a 3.73 rear-end without adding the Max-tow package (which is more than just mirrors). Are they adding in a regular tow package? Maybe that's the issue - I believe you do need one of the optional tow packages (535, 60M, 60P, 60C) for that rear-end. The 60x packages are max-tow, and the 535 is the "Optional Trailer Tow" which is the regular tow package.

I don't want to start anything but why not get max tow if you have the chance? I haven't heard of anybody regretting the max tow mirrors. Especially on the 2013+ since they are super duty power folding/telescoping mirrors that make daily driving much nicer. I am used to never having to turn my head for switching lanes.

I would have gotten max tow if it weren't for the mirrors. Ill just opt to put the OEM brake controller in at some point and essentially have max tow minus the mirrors.

Get the max tow then just change mirrors. Best of both worlds. If you ever decide to tow something you will be happy you got the max tow.

I'd say I'm pretty happy already.
